so hardcore COD feels more like "easy mode". Hardcore Mode - COD has no recoil, and close range maps.Fireteam - Promotes teamwork, while COD's labyrinth maps promote individual Rambo style play.MOHW is more reminiscent of older, better, Classic COD style maps. While recent COD is now just a circular, labyrinth of close range run-n-gunning. Balancing them for all classes and tactics. MOHW maps are small, but have a lot of elevation/open space mixed with Close Quarters. Criticized as being "generic maps" these maps take a much needed step back from recent Call of Dutys. Thats not appealing to the masses of people who just want to spray bullets around. You need to burst fire, and aim well in MOHW. What separates MOHW from COD? A "AAA" Modern Shooter? (Since MOHW is being called just another generic COD clone.) For me there are a lot of things that make MOHW a much more appealing multiplayer experience: But instead it too, is probably a niche game. Medal of Honor Warfighter was marketed as a AAA title from a major publisher, so it should be fun for everybody.
They were able to give RO2 some more points by calling it a "niche" game that won't appeal to everybody. I guess since it was "different" in terms of an unforgivably "realistic" shooter with "vehicles" it showed more initiative to be different. The last launch game I pre-ordered that was very broken was Red Orchestra 2. Those 3 factors usually always weigh heavy in review scores. The Menus, Hit Detection, Guns (up to lvl 23), Voice chat are my biggest gripes but I can easily adjust to these things and make the best of it. If they would have held onto to this game a little more and tweaked a few things I think they would have done better. With Warfighter they're obviously trying to steal the COD fans with the release time and by catering to their style and they almost got it. They did go backwards with this game but I'm all for COD4, MW2, and of course Treyarch (BlOps) whom I believe are the best at making these games. The player movement is smooth and feels light, the menus are responsive (most of the time), the customization's are simple and to the point, and the maps are just right. I played mostly all the MP games and COD plays the best. A lot of people have been posting this crap about COD bringing the same shit every year but there's a reason why they bring record sales. I do not think it is a bad game, but it is not a great game. Keeping a fireteam is also a pain, sometimes people get dropped and rejoining is difficult. (I may simply have not figured this out yet). Also you cannot invite specific people, you have to invite all of your friends. Joining a fireteam is a bit of a trick, battlelog is useless. Time between games should be shortened in my opinion, but that could be a server setting. The different game modes are pretty cool.
The menu makes sense compared to the rest of the game menus. The gun accessories are freaking great, I think that is badass. Bigger maps with less invisible walls will go a long way for me. I was also expecting more destructible items with the frostbite engine. choke points everywhere with limited ways around. Not being able to shoot through things you should be able to shoot through, but at the same time being shot through rock walls.
Many of the maps feel smaller than MW2 maps. I feel like I am on rails in a very small map.
